Modern London has a temperate oceanic, or marine climate. The winters are mild and the summers are warm. July is the hottest summer month, averaging 66°F (19°C), and January is the coldest winter month, averaging 44°F (7°C). London is a wonderful city to visit and tour at any time of the year, but most visitors prefer to visit between April and October or Spring through Fall, when the temperature is mostly warm with the days being long and the sun frequently out.

Spring (March-May): London comes alive during Spring. The temperatures warm back up and the city is soaked in warm sunshine. Don't forget the Spring showers the season brings. This time of year is always the most unpredictable and hardest to dress for. It's always a good idea to have a waterproof jacket with you. Also, have a range of winter and summer clothes so you're prepared.
Fall (September-November): Autumn is always a beautiful time of year in London. The weather still gives off a summer feel, but the winter chills creep up some after. The parks and gardens are brought to lives with the colors of falling leaves. Makes sure you warm clothes and a god coat. It's always nice to have warm gloves and scarves with you as well. Winter (December-February): Magic is around ever corner in London as the streets are lined and sparkle with lights. The city is occasionally blanketed is snow and ice. Layering is key during this season. Make sure you have your warm sweaters, winter coats, gloves scarves, hats, and boots. Summer (June-August): Summer is glorious and amazing this time of year. The capital is full of ravishing parks and welcoming open spaces. Temperatures can skyrocket during the summer but can also remain temperate and pleasant. Make sure you have light clothes and a waterproof jacket in case it rains. |
